  • Melissa, i got a lot of hip pain relief from sacroiliac injections (both sides)
i do not need hip replacement (that i know of), but had a lot
of hip pain caused by my spine...both the lumbar curve and
nerves being impinged upon by whatever is pressing on them in
    my spine/discs....
it is just a suggestion...maybe ask the pain doc who is doing
the shots for you if SI shots might possibly help you....

    hope you feel better....
    glad your daughter is home....

    • This is the hip injection that is done under Xray directly into my hip joint. I already have done the Left SI joint injection. On August 20th, I have an appt to talk to a surgeon to discuss whether fusing my SI joint will help me with the pain since I will have to wait to get my hip replaced.

          • Not doing well lately . My neck is in so much pain and is causing bad headaches ever since my shoulder surgery. Had two appts today at UCI. Both were cancelled. One was for the fibro doctor and the other was for a surgeon to discuss fusing my SI joints

            • hi Melissa
i am so sorry to hear that you are in so much pain...
i wanted to ask you if the hip surgery, if you get it done, might
eliminate the pain from SI joints..?
i have read very different results about SI joint fusion...
              more negative than positive...

i hope your daughter is doing well and happy to be
              back home with you...

Yes she is very happy to be here. The only reason that I want to find out about fusion of SI joints is that I lose my BCBS insurance October 2,2012. I am trying to get some relief because I do not know when I will have decent insurance again

                      • A shot in the back of the neck to block pain signals. A simple procedure from what I’m reading and very effective.

I had a Right sided nerve block at L4 because of pain radiating to my buttocks and anterior thigh [with Lidocaine and steroid]. The procedure was only slightly uncomfortable since the exit for the nerve was very stenotic so my doctor had a challenge doing it. The pain relief was heavenly. I was amazed. Mine has lasted for a few months so far.
Hope that itis as great for you.
