Hi guys im a bit worried I am six months post op and the rods are causing pain in my middle back and lower back.

My surgeon said when he pressed my back and i nearly went through the roof with pain, that it was where the rod ended and that was what was causing the pain, and he has said that after 18 months from my op which will be Nov next year he will remove them if i want because of the pain.

I am just looking for advice on weather this is a good idea or not, I could probably cope with the pain so is it worth having another op to have everything taken out....

Any advice and anyone who has had the rods and screws removed would be a help, on weather when they remove it does your spine start to curve again as that is what i am worried about, and then have to have everything put back again.

He said it is cause my bones are so tiny and I am so thin, but i cant put weight on due to another illness that i have and that is why i am so small.
