  • Recommendations for Johns Hopkins or Hershey Medical

    Hi,

I'm new to the forum. My 15 year old dd was just diagnosed with scoliosis. The dr. we saw took an x-ray and all he said was that she had a 50* curve (didn't say where, but I think it's thoractic). My dd is scheduled to have an MRI next Wednesday with a follow up with an adult specialist in the practice of doctors we were referred to. (She originally saw an a pediatric doctor and he said she has stopped growing so that's why he's referring her to an adult doctor.)

Anyway, we are all new to this and trying to stay calm and learn as much as we can.

If surgery is suggested, we want a second opinion (or third or whatever).

My question is can anyone recommend a doctor at either Hershey Medical Center or Johns Hopkins? I'm assuming that she will need to see an adult specialist.

Thanks for your patience in reading this and bearing with me as we are new to all of this.

    Thanks!

    PS--

If anyone has the names of any doctors at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, that would also be welcome!

    Thanks again!

Try Dr. Rilley/Cohen/Kebaish at Hopkins. Heard good things about all of them. Saw Dr. Cohen a year ago. Good luck.

Since this thread was awhile ago I'm guessing you probably already chose a hospital and doctor. What did you end up going with? How is everything?
