All last night I had tingling from my hip to my toes. It is better now but I am still going to call Pain Management

My son had a torn meniscus in his hip socket when he was a teenager. He had aweful hip pain. They wanted to do surgery to correct it, but when he described his pain to the orthopedist, it was more of a bursitis type pain. He got a steroid injection to the outside of his hip and hasn't had any pain since. I hope it works for you! I keep you in my thoughts.

I think hip injections are usually (always?) for trochanteric bursitis, which is really common in people with spine problems. Had it not been for a trochanteric bursitis flare after my spine surgeries, I think I would have been back at work a month or two earlier. It can definitely be a problem in terms of sleeping. I haven't been able to sleep on my right side for months, despite an injection about a month ago.

Hip injections

I am having 3 different hip injections. I am having an SI injection as well as the injection because of my hip bone spur.

I am just so tired of being in pain . I am only 52 years old and I have no quality of life left at all

i hope the shots help, Melissa
i do know that SI joint injections were the only shots, of many kinds i had, that really gave
me pain relief...it relieved my lumbar pain, especially pain in hips that prevented walking, by
about 90%...it was amazing...
just be careful and keep track of how much steroid you are getting...not just how many
times you go in, but how much each doctor is injecting....
i had only one doctor doing the steroids...but he gave me "a ton" of steroid in January...

Thanks Jess for the information about the steroids. I had a friend who had Addison's disease because of too much steroids.

Well, my blood sugar numbers are very good.This is very surprising because I have gotten steroids this week

That's great Melissa. You've got that one under control. How have you been feeling? Any lessening of the pain?

My hip pain is still there.I walked in the stores yesterday doing a few errands and I really felt the pain

i hope the shots will kick in, but i am surprised you havent had relief
already...my shots used to kick in fast...
i know every body is different in how they respond...
are you going to call the doctor who did the shots...??
do you think they gave you enough of the steroid...???
i had one time they didnt give me enougn OR didnt get into the SI joint...
but then the next time the same doctor over did the shots...
so i think it is probably a fine line to know how much is enough....

July 9th shoulder surgery

My doctor is trying to get my insurance to admit into the hospital for this surgery. I will need inpatient rehab before I go home and it is easier from the hospital

You may have an underlying inflammatory disorder that may be explaining all of your pain. Your hand and feet xrays showed a lot of calcifications/bone spurs and one of your blood tests showed a high amount of inflammation.


This is from Dr Bederman about lab work and Xrays that I went for. So maybe there is help for me yet
