I had a bad night. Up every hour. When I laid on my back, I felt like I was lying on a metal frame. My right side is getting worse at my hip. My left side gets sore. I can't walk, sit or stand. I guess , my fibro has gotten worse with all of my stress

I wouldn't be surprised Melissa. I hope your husband has spoken to his parents. Perhaps try to zone out and think of their upcoming visit as your husband's responsibility, not yours. I hope this eases for you quickly.Surgery March 3, 2009 at almost 58, now 63.

well, my daughter and her SO will be coming for 5 nights. I got her to stay one more day. I have told my husband that is he lets his parents visit without talking to me , I will go to a hotel for the length of their visit and take my son with me. We will be dining out while they are here
Thanks for caringMelissa

2 weeks from Thursday all h*ll will break loose. This should be a interesting week. I can't sleep. I don't know what to do. I have been taking sleeping pills which
have done nothing. I have asked Dr Bederman to set me up with a real fibro doctor at the hospital which he has said he will .Melissa

Hi Melissa...
At some point, I think we all go through the sleep issue. It happened to me when I finally bit the bullet, and decided to get off the sleeping pill regime. I think it took 2-3 weeks to start getting anywhere near a normal amount of sleep at night. I tried not to let it get to me. Since I wasn't working full-time at that point, I just worked through it, and slept when I could.
Hope it doesn't take too long.

Well, I had my second PT appt. I am so stiff and have such limited mobility. I love the TENS unit , I sleep thru it, and the massage . Then I have to do the painful part. I am going to have a shot in my right hip this afternoon. Hope it gives me some relief.Melissa

Dr. Bederman is so different to your first surgeon, who dismissed your concerns and let you suffer alone. He's not giving up, and there still seems plenty that can be done. The pt is obviously good for you, though naturally it's going to hurt but ultimately, it's likely to help a lot. At least you have that relaxation to look forward to 3 x a week even if you then have to do the work. I wonder if they got you to do the work first, then the TENS and relaxation afterwards, might be better? Worth asking? I'm clueless, but if it makes no difference, it might be pleasant to finish off with that massage. Or better still, a massage at both ends of the appt!
Once again, hopes are pinned on the fibro doctor. As tricky as fibro is, a doctor who specialises in fibro is definitely the next step.
Wishing you the best of luck.Surgery March 3, 2009 at almost 58, now 63.

That's so different from pt my family has done, it's always pt first, then tens, then massage. Whatever the case, still sending good wishes for relief of pain for you!Mom of 14yo son diagnosed Oct 2011

Hi Melissa
When I did pt last year, I told the therapist how I wished
I could have a tens at home. Next thing I know, they had
a tens delivered to me and insurance paid for most of it.
Maybe you have the option to have one too?
Warmly

can extend them any longer but I can ask. That is a great suggestion. I made it thru session 2 today. The PT gave me some hints on pillows and sleeping. Then I headed down to the Pain Management Doctor. She gave me an injection in my right hip so maybe I can get some relief. Then Dr Bederman heard that I was
there so he told me that he wanted to see me before I left. Well, basically, we had the same conversation that we keep on having. He really is so different from my first surgeon. Thanks to Linda, I got so lucky in finding him. So he told me , again, that I have a very long journey in front of me and I am the only one that can make the trip. The fibro doctor that Dr Bederman wants me to see called me today so I hope that I can get an appt soon when I call her back tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for being here for me. I really need this group when I get down and that is quite often when I am in this much painMelissa
