September 9th surgery

61 years old--57 for surgery
Diagnosed in 1965 at age of 13--no brace
Thoracic Curve: 96 degrees to 35 degrees
Lumbar Curve: 63 degrees to 5 degrees
Surgery with Dr. Lenke in St. Louis--March 30, 2009
T-2 to Pelvis, and hopefully all posterior procedure.
All was posterior along with 2 cages and 6 osteotomies.

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better and that the pain in finally under control. Lots of healing thoughts coming your way. You deserve it.

I have been keeping up to date with your progress but haven't been able to log in. I've been sending positive vibes your way without logging in. I had trouble with my computer and computer viruses.
However, I am happy to hear you are making progress now. That's great!!
Let's hope you will be more comfortable without the staples. This is another step in the healing process.

Irene1996 x-rays (none read recently) 50 degrees thoracic, 40 degrees lumbar
Never braced, found out I had scoliosis at age 28
At time of surgery, multi-level disc spondylotic degeneration,
advanced lumbar degeneration, stenosis
65 years young and very active but no lengthy walks or standing without pain
Now, 67. walking and standing as much as I want

Yeah, I suppose they don't want you in germy (is that a word?) water. It would be nice to sit in a deep pool of warm water, although I speak without knowledge since I have not had surgery. I just know that makes my back feel better from muscle spasms.Be happy!
