  • I am so sorry, Melissa. How discouraging for you. Take some deep breaths and remember that you are a fighter and have taken it one day at a time and made it through so many catastrophes. You can do this. If you need to grieve about it, let the tears come, then you will be ready to face your battles again. You are a strong person and have so many exciting things going on in your life as well. Don't let the turkeys get you down. It's a setback for sure, but you can find another path. Hugs.

    • Melissa,

I have read your story over these many posts - your trials and tribulations. It would be (for me) almost too much to bear. Which indicates to me not only are you strong, brave and will not give up, you are my hero.

Not only has this affected you the most, but it certainly has impacted your family as well. I intend to pray for you often and hope you have a deep and abiding faith in God. I have been angry over the years for many of my problems with God, but He never intended to cause me pain. He loves me and He loves you - I'm sure your suffering has caused Him great pain (ha ha, you might say, but He knows what you are going through). Please try and muster up the strength to reach out to Him and give your tired mind, body and spirit to Him. I sense so much weariness in your posts, that He can handle and give you relief.

I don't know your faith and do not mean to clout you over the head with the Bible; but God can give great peace to those that are suffering as much as you have. Regardless, I will pray for you daily.

May all the doctors be kind to you, may BCBS approve your pain pump, may someone care and continually share your pain; someone you can talk to. Like us when you are up to it.

      God Bless you Melissa,
      Susan

          • Thank you all for your warm wishes but I am running out of strength. I really think giving up is the way to go.

Any way, I find out today if BCBS has changed their mind regarding the spinal cord stimulator.

According to my pain psychologist, BCBS is the hardest to get an approval on.

I will let you know later today

It was good chatting with you on the phone! I don’t text since I always have the wrong glasses on, have cataracts now,......and my eye surgeon wants me to wait.

Its just like the scoliosis thing. You know, hurry up and wait. (For decades) You get kind of used to it.....

                            • Thanks everyone

I just realized that this is my 4th year anniversary of my first surgery with Dr Bederman. This is the where I was fused from C2 to my pelvis. It was a 15 hour surgery. I was in the hospital about 10 days and then I went to rehab for about 3 weeks. That was not a easy recovery but I made it.

I am more flexible now than I ever thought I would be so it a success

First of many surgeries with Dr Bedeermaan
