              Surgery coming soon

I scheduled my surgery with Dr. Lenke two years ago and it is finally just weeks away. I will have a T4-S1 fusion on June 9th. In the two years since I first scheduled my surgery I moved to Houston. So now I am facing a plane ride for my trip home from St. Louis after the operation. Yikes! There is so much more to plan when the surgery is away from your home.

Thanks Melissa. Last night I thought my leg was feeling ever so slightly better. Then today it was just as painful as ever. I got a call from the hospital today and I have an appointment on Tuesday for my myelogram - so we'll see what they find . That's the day of your surgery. Big day for you, so while I'm laying there having my myelogram I'll be thinking happy thoughts of you Melissa, and I'll be excited for you knowing that you will be pain free and so much happier long term. Even though I have this pain in my leg, I know it will go away soon, and I'm so much happier now than I was before surgery, I love seeing my body straighter, and feeling taller, and knowing my spine is no longer all screwed up. You'll feel much better too very soon as well
