I'm getting pretty nervous now. Got my pre-op tomorrow morning and will be confirming my surgery date of the 27th of next month. I have a page full of last minute questions too. Hope I can get some sleep now. Wish me luck

That's exciting (and nerve-wracking too!) that your pre-op is tomorrow. Let us know how it goes! Just like our surgeries, it seems like people's pre-ops are all a bit different. I'll be thinking of you! Susie71 and plugging along... but having some problems

The pre-op went well and helped ease a lot of my fears about something going wrong in the surgery. I was also pleased to find out that I'm going to be fused to L3 instead of L4. (This was due to my forgetfullness in the previous appointment as I got mixed up between where my curvature ends and where I will be fused to. The curvature is from T11 to L4 but I will be fused from T12 to L3). The doctor said he thinks my curve should get down to 10-15 degrees after surgery (46 degrees now) which I'm pretty happy about since doctors generally give conservative estimates. Now I just need to concentrate on doing well on my end-of-term exams and then having surgery three days later! It's gong to be pretty hard not to get distracted but it needs to be doneDiagnosed at the age of 18 (2004)
46° curve
Surgery scheduled for April 27, 2009 - Anterior fusion from T12 - L3
