I am sitting here in my hotel thinking about tomorrow morning. I am so ready for this surgery, yet so scared at the same time. I have so many thoughts running through my head right now, I am not sure that I will get any sleep tonight. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am in the morning. I will try to post as soon as I feel like I can. Wish me luck !

Jamie,
Deep breaths... can you make a list of why you're doing this? It might help you calm down. Also remember, after tomorrow, everything will only improve as you recover. Imagine yourself one month after surgery, or even 1 year from now - you'll be so tall and straight and this will be far behind you.
Will be thinking good thoughts for you You'll be great!2000 34*L/39*T

Awwww Jamie...you're going to do great! I know it can be daunting and scary but it will all be worth it in the end. Rent a movie, have some dinner and try to relax. It's easier said than done, I know. If I did it at 46 you can do it too! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and sending you well wishes. Virtual hugs!

Vndy and Geish are right, Jamie ... they both talked me through mine last month, and they were right.
You'll be surprised how quickly things move in the morning - and how many odd things will distract you from worry.
You're gonna be fine, kiddo. Lots of people sending good thoughts your way to banish the things that go bump in the time before ...
Hugs,
Pam

LAFF!!!! ... and do NOT try to teach someone how to use a digital camera the morning of surgery!
Jamie, Geish has a valid point - lol ... my "trainee" almost managed to miss my back! Get a camera AND a competent operator .

Oh yeah, I remember the night before. I think the high point was the self-administered enema.
Don't worry about sleep, you'll get lots tomorrow!!!
Everything will be okay. Best wishes to you!Chris

I'm trying to think ... the night before, I just wanted the next DAY to get here because my place was so crammed with people ... look back at my posts from 2/3-2/4 ... I seriously wanted to spend the night alone and take a cab to the Med Center!
The DAY before, my highlight was standing in line at the tax office getting my car tags and handicapped placard thinking "Wow. I won't drive again for weeks ...".
Funny what you miss when you won't be able to or can't ...
(BTW, self-administered enema is on neither of my lists - LOL!. You win :-)

You can do this!
Dear Jamie,
The night before surgery jitters are totally normal. Take the advice of the others who have already posted for you tonight: breath deeply, visualize yourself taller, straighter and smiling with the surgery behind you. If you do not have a mantra, try the one from The Little Blue Engine who went from "I think I can" to "I KNOW I can!" We all KNOW you can! Looking forward to hearing from you on the "other side".
