    Hi Marcia,

I had my surgery 3 hours away from my home. My ride home was very much tolerable due to a combination of medications and some strategically placed pillows.

Regarding my pain meds, I would call a few days before the RX was to be refilled, and they would "DHL" me my prescriptions.

      Hi Barbara,
I appreciate the information. At present I have appointments with a scoliosis specialist for adults and it is over 4 hours away. But I think he is probably going to be the one I will want for my surgery. I also have an appointment with a scoliosis physician in my town of Houston, but even that is over an hour across town in the worse traffic.

I will definitely keep posting as I get nearer to surgery and after the surgery. Being 57 years of age and doing this is scary, but the surgery is scary for anyone. Those of us baby boomers hopefully can be an inspiration to those younger who also are worried about the surgery.

Shari, I plan to make some purchases of new pillows! I have heard that a body pillow is very helpful at home. Riding home I hope to be medicated but hopefully have some anti-nausea drugs as well. That is always a problem with me.
