I noticed in another thread that you recently lost your mom. I am so very sorry for your loss. You're a terrific person and we all love your encouragement on this board. You have given us a lot of helpful information. Thank you so much. I've always thought that people with such kind hearts, such strength and stamina, had to have had good parents. Your mom surely was a wonderful lady. I will be praying for you, that you are comforted in the days ahead.

I have been off for a time so hadn't seen the post about your mother. I'm so sorry to hear that. And yes, to echo the ones above, someone as supportive and helpful as you have been to all of us, had to be one very strong, loving person too. You're certainly in my thoughts and prayers. JanetJanet

Sending my sympathy also. It is so hard to lose a parent-- we can expect it as we grow older, but when it actually happens, it still hurts so. I lost both my mother and father within 4 months of each other one year. There's a time to grieve and this would be it, and everyone seems to deal with grief in their own way. Let us know what we can do-- individually or as a group. Sending love your way.71 and plugging along... but having some problems

Thanks guys. The e-mails and PM’s are appreciated....you are all wonderful.
I don’t have much to say other than the fact that grief is extremely powerful.....I think that time will heal, and the power of the lord is strong.
When I return home from Florida, I hope to recover somewhat so I can comment on scoliosis related issues......this is what our forum is about. I know that elders in their 80’s are not allowed to fall, because that is what happened.....Her hip gave out, probably from osteoporotic degeneration....
My mom was a classical pianist, an artist, and an incredible person. Now, I have to figure out how to get the paintings home....She had all the pictures of course, and have all the old photos now... looking at my shoulder heights during my teen years......I guess it doesn’t matter since it all turned out just fine in the end....
Thx

I’m back home now trying to recover from THE worst stiff neck ever above my fusion, so bad that my left arm and hand has been numb. This is a first time I have ever had nerve related arm issues and think back to those that have had these sorts of problems here in the past.
I took a 3 year old Celebrex...from my medication arsenal. I will report on the shelf life of this product. lol
I made it 15 months without any neck issues, but it seems that this is going to be one of my future problems. Last year my surgeon told me that my C5-C6 is showing signs of degeneration....and my neck seems to be falling forward just like ET.
Once again, I will give Chiro and ultrasound a try....I expect to do around 4 or 5 neck adjustments everyday this week.
Thanks for all the support...
Happy Easter

I'm sorry to hear that Ed. It's one of my fears as well.
The first thought that came into my head was, these things happen/get worse during times of severe stress. The tension in our bodies, in particular, brings out pain in all our vulnerable bits. Losing your Mom is a hugely stressful event, so I have hope that as the stress eases, so will your pain. Take it easy.Surgery March 3, 2009 at almost 58, now 63.

Ed--
Sorry to hear of the difficulties you are having with your neck. I'm sure the stress of losing your mom has played a role. I know my neck is one of the areas I have the most trouble. I recently have noticed an improvement since my husband got me this "seat" to put on the computer chair. Have you ever used the Backjoy Relief? www.BACKJOY.com 10 minutes at the computer was about all I could handle without my neck acting up. This really has helped. It just positions you differently. We got it at Bed Bath and Beyond for about 40 dollars. Hope things improve soon. JanetJanet
