Its 555 miles from Atlanta to St Louis. Not awfully bad, you can always stop in motels coming back if need be.

I like the Godfather selection. Just fast forward through the rub-out scenes. LOL
Godfather 2 was filmed at Lake Tahoe.....At Fleur du Lac on west shore. I used to live a few miles away....from the boat ride scene when Fredo gets it. (Very Heavy!) I never fish Tahoe for that reason. LOL

The Lake Tahoe house and grounds portrayed in the film are Fleur du Lac, the summer estate of Henry J. Kaiser on the California side of the lake. The only structures used in the movie that still remain are the complex of old native stone boathouses with their wrought iron gates. Although Fleur du Lac is private property and no one is allowed ashore there, the boathouses and multi-million dollar condominiums may be viewed from the lake.

I quit coffee before my surgeries since I didn’t want to deal with caffeine withdrawl in my recovery....

Have a safe trip and post when you can.

        • wishing you a successful procedure and uneventful and smooth recovery....
i hope all goes well from start to finish!

sometimes when i am not hungry, i can eat a protein bar...if you have access to a health food
store, you might want to think of picking some up, or ask family to get some for you...
there are some protein bars that have a lot of nutrition in them, and they taste pretty good....

          • Don't be embarrassed. We can ask just about anything on this forum. I didn't need help, but had to use the tongs provided in the spine kit for wiping so that I didn't have to reach or twist. Definitely get flushable wipes.

I never had any problems from the start.....

They also get you up right away. A little scary, but ok. You will feel so tall.

                • Wishing you a safe trip and a successful surgery! You are going to love your new shape.

I had no trouble with "toileting" from the start but that was a concern I had had prior to surgery. Everyone is built differently. There are work arounds if you do and some of the initial difficulties go away with time.

                  Sending positive thoughts your way!

                  • Three Words I Wasn't Expecting...

Insurance denied surgery. Pre-op tests were going great this morning. I'm a bit speechless/shocked/stunned. We are getting conflicting stories from insurance. They told hubby and me they are missing docs; however, they told Dr. Lenke's nurse that they feel the surgery will not benefit me. I was also surprised when I had to lay on my stomach for the last x-ray and two people pushed my spine straight. The stress of they day has finally hit home. I am so numb. :-( Will post more when I get updates.

                    Warmly,
                    Doreen

                        • Idk what insurance

Most insurance say no. When I had united they denied a lot and it was a fight. Moved to humana HMO and was good. Don't give up. The dr's office have people who can contest these things quickly. Praying for you-you have had a long hard journey.

                              • That's just beyond incredible. Forty-four years old with ~70* double major.

I can almost see them trying to deny it if there is no recent progression. Is that the case? Do you have pain? They may suggest that absent progression, surgery is not guaranteed to solve the pain and that is technically true.

I'm still shocked. I bet they come around very soon.

Don't get discouraged. Maybe Dr. Lenke's office can help.

                                Good luck.
