I come to this thread every day to see if there's news of Joy. I think Stephanie said it very well for all of us.

Thinking of Joy and her family and still hoping for good news.

I will keep you and your Mom in my prayers. This is such a sad and shocking situation. I came out of surgery with an infection and this is such a reminder of how vulnerable we all are. Please keep hope and faith in your heart.

Please remember that scolis are the bravest people on the planet. After many many years of thought about surgery, we finally make our decisions knowing how really difficult the surgeries can be. Once we are surgical candidates, as your mother was, we have to face this head on at some point. It was something that she had to do.

        Do not give up hope.

Thank you for letting us know.

To Joy's son, I am so sorry to hear of Joy's news. I want to thank you for posting during such a difficult time for you and your family. It's important for us to hear that there can be devastating consequences. Your mom will continue to stay in my prayers that she will return to her recovery and rejoin her family.
