It's about time I get to share some super great news here! I went to my surgeon yesterday and he removed my picc line. (It's been three weeks since the surgery to replace my bone graft.) Since being off the antibiotics for the last week I have felt ten times better. I have trouble knowing my limits since it's been almost three months since my initial surgery and I'm just ready to regain my life. I get tired real easy and I tend to have two good days followed by a day where I "just hurt" real bad. Today is my bad day. But yesterday evening I "played" kickball with my 4 year old and one year old. It felt great to feel like I was their mom again.
My surgeon said I should be able to return to work in about 8 weeks. The hospital I work at does not allow you to return to work with any type of restrictions. It's all or none. So between now and then, I just have to work on my endurance. Hope everyone else is having as good a week as I have had.
