Hi everyone,
I just received my lumbar MRI results and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the information. It says now that I have a mid to lower convex left scoliosis. My surgeon had not seen this before in my x-rays. Could this have occurred so quickly since April 2010 when my last x-rays were taken?
Also, no surprise that there are issues in my lumbar area because I have significant pain there, but it mentions loss of disc space L1-L2 and L2-L3. But what is odd is they found "Schmorl's nodes" at L1 and L4. I have never heard of these before. I understand they are disc herniations. Has anyone been diagnosed with these?
I have more questions for my surgeon, that's for sure. My mind is swirling now and I guess I'm feeling a bit better now knowing that my lumbar spine pain is not the result of "normal arthritic changes", what he said to me before, but I may now have another curve and herniated discs? Oh, I am not happy right now.
Thanks for letting me vent!
