Steroids can cause blood sugars to rise. This does not surprise me. You may have to adjust your diabetic medication temporarily.
    May 2008 Fusion T4 - S1, Pre-op Curves T45, L70 (age 48). Unsuccessful surgery.

March 18, 2010 (age 50). Revision with L3 Osteotomy, Replacement of hardware T11 - S1 , addition of bilateral pelvic fixation. Correction of sagittal imbalance and kyphosis.

January 24, 2012 (age 52) Revision to repair pseudoarthrosis and 2 broken rods at L3/L4.

oh gosh...i completely forgot...i had that happen with oral prednisone some years ago...i am not diabetic, but i could feel the difference...also, if i ate a brownie, i didnt get a "rush" the way i usually do! i knew it was off!
didnt realize injections of steroid could throw it off as much as oral meds...
      what a huge difference, though!

am sure your PCP will have an answer for you today...

best of luck...please let us know how your appointment went this morning...
