You both are in my thoughts and prayers. It will be very hard on you for awhile, but you will be her mainstay and support. Don't be too surprised if she is puffy looking after surgery. It WILL get better! Be sure to take care of yourself too.Last edited by Susie*Bee; 06-11-2010, 09:28 AM.71 and plugging along... but having some problems

Lean all you want! That's what we're here for. We all help and lean on each other too. Indian saying I like, "two arrows are stronger than one and a threefold quiver is not easily broken".
Seems like some laws of Physics and Psychology together are well and simply stated there and it applies even when the arrows are virtual!
Your wife is courageous to have made this leap and very lucky to have you in the wings!
There are many here who have come through the surgery your wife is undergoing, including some with her selfsame surgeon. Dr Cronen is highly regarded here based on their personal experience. In these tense hours, try to picture Jan living with much less pain and increased self confidence. How lovely that will be!Last edited by Back-out; 06-11-2010, 10:21 AM.Not all diagnosed (still having tests and consults) but so far:
Ehler-Danlos (hyper-mobility) syndrome, 69 - somehow,
main curve L Cobb 60, compensating T curve ~ 30
Flat back, marked lumbar kyphosis (grade?) Spondilolisthesis - everyone gives this a different grade too. Cervical stenosis op'd 3-07, minimally invasive

I'm glad there were plenty here with you yesterday, to keep you company. It's very hard on the family. Strangely enough, the day of surgery is easiest on the patient.
In the days that come, please take care of yourself and do whatever you can to get enough sleep.Surgery March 3, 2009 at almost 58, now 63.
