I just wanted to share that I had a really good 4 month check up yesterday. Dr. Lonner looked at all those CT scan views for what felt like forever before he said anything while my husband and I kind of sat there holding our breath. But the good news is that the CT is showing fusion and Dr. Lonner is extremely pleased with how I'm doing. It does not appear that any further surgery will be necessary.
He still wants me to limit the bending, lifting, twisting but overall, he said to keep on doing what I have been, which is lots of walking both in and out of the water. He told me the hip pain I have been noticing is due to the ileac (?)screw. Apparently, they can be painful for a while, and if there is still pain after full fusion, it can be removed. We are both so relieved! I have vented my anxiety about this additional surgery possibility a lot on here, so just wanted to post an update. The bonus to all of this is we spent the weekend in NY being tourists and had a wonderful time! Don't think we can write off "South Pacific" tickets as a medical expense though!
