    Dear Kelly,

    Wow, what fast progress you have made! I am so glad to hear you're headed home--that's amazing. It will be so wonderful to sleep in your own bed without all the light, noise and interruptions.

    Best of luck, and please let us know how your recovery is going.

      I agree, you've done fantastically well. Hope your recovery continues smoothly.

      Melissa, I was in hospital for 19 days because I was reliant on morphine injections for pain control. I had to go 12 hours without a morphine injection before they'd allow me home. I was scared to go home, expecting horrendous pain, but it didn't happen. From the moment I crawled into my own bed, the pain dropped. I guess it was the comfy bed plus the psychological aspect of finally getting home, but I didn't have bothersome pain from then on.

      I am always amazed when people go home within the first week. Just highlights how different we all are.

      But we get there in the end.

        That is great news to go home so quickly after surgery.

        I was off the morphine drip by day 6 which is when they sent me to the rehab hospital where I was for additional 10 days on oral pain meds.

          I'm so sorry for your discomfort. I know you're in pain but try to relax as much as you can. your body needs rest! I don't remember much of my hospital stay I slept a lot!!!! It won't be easy at first but try not to panic that is the last thing your body needs :{ :{ :{
          Hope it gets better for you!

            Kassie,
            Congratulations on improving so quickly. It has to make you feel good that your surgeon is really pleased. It will be nice to go home.
