        Not buying it.

Engineers can do math in a box, with a fox, on a train, in the rain, on the slopes, hanging from ropes, etc. etc. etc.

Work has been intense lately. The mental exhaustion is overwhelming sometimes.... My back is the last thing on my mind.

On a lighter note, Homo erectus and Homo fusamaximus are great user names for the forum for any future scolis with a sense of humor. I think I started a thread on that subject at one point...

I used to be able to math anywhere. Now pain makes me make mistakes with math so I no longer teach!

              hi rainbow
i am so sorry that you are living with so much pain...what has the surgeon said?.....the extra fusion didnt work? didnt help? how long have you been in pain like that...didnt understand from your signature when the revision was done...?
have you been to see another doctor for a consulation on why/what is going on with your spine? i hope you can find one who can figure something out to help!

Jess took the words out of my mouth but I decided to quote you so you would be (hopefully) more likely to see it.

And just when I was thinking we had a long-lived fusion here who could tell us what it was like years into it...It's great to hear from all the happy fused folks but I can't help noticing they're all just a few years out. Even Linda is in pain again and needs a revision.

For all the talk about my *outrageous) surgeon comments telling me to expect more surgery within ~ seven years (and quite likely, less) it is seeming true - at least, on this board. Wish we could place up a poll.

And then there is my age - if that is a factor
Not all diagnosed (still having tests and consults) but so far:
                Ehler-Danlos (hyper-mobility) syndrome, 69 - somehow,
                main curve L Cobb 60, compensating T curve ~ 30
Flat back, marked lumbar kyphosis (grade?) Spondilolisthesis - everyone gives this a different grade too. Cervical stenosis op'd 3-07, minimally invasive
