Firstly, I would just like to say that just because her curve is small, it doesn't mean she should be opted out for surgery - I was diagnosed at 14 and offered surgery straight away even though my curve is only 40 degrees. She is young and speaking from a younger person's point of view, I had muy surgery delayed only ONE YEAR and already my curve has worsened; if you risk surgery now then from my point of view, you would be running the risk of her not having fully developed and the curve coming back after surgery. However, if she is in pain then don't hesitate to check out your options. Hope this helps.
