me too. don't worry, chicka, everything will work out soon. i have followed the instructions doc gave me, and it turns out brace is going bye-bye sooner than expected. i will have had it for a year on april 25th, and i'm done with it during the day on may 15th, then i'll only have to sleep in it. so, do what you're supposed to and maybe, just maybe, you'll get it off sooner than you think. good luck!

thank u much. ur words are uplifting 2 me. i know that God will help me thro everything. so i tell Him everyday, "thank you Lord!" (for being with me) "and plz help me 2 get it off VERY soon!" i just have 2 keep on praying and stick 2 the brace. sadly i have 2 wear it, but i still have 2 trust in God 2 help me thro it. how old r u spine chicka?

Clothes

I remember when I was in my plaster cast, post surgery and I hated it because I couldn't wear all my nice clothes - my parents did their best to buy me trendy clothes that were big enough to go round my hips and waist - I still never felt very good.

However, I still suffer from the same problems with clothing, I find that little tops always end up crooked and that I am permanently pulling them around to make them straight.

I am fused from T5 to L1 with a Harrington rod and T6 to T10 with a compression rod, over the years I have started to go sideways again

I noticed this first in my clothes and then I had my husband take pictures of me 6 months apart and the bend is noticeable.

It is something I have lived with for many years and I guess I am used to seeing my World from a twisted perspective

got some news

hello all... i have some news. as i am going to the doc for my periodical checkup on june 19th i have found some clothes that you can wear with the boston brace. go to kmart in the junior's section and you will see some striped hoodies with short sleeves and aren't too hot. the brand is "blue boy" and they're really cute too. trust me.

Be thankful it is a brace and not a cast...they stink

My heart goes out to all you young ladies having to wear the brace..but believe me it is better than a cast.
my sister and I wore a cast from age 11 to 13 and we had it changed every two months in Houston.

Every two months I was able to wash my body...and the cast came up to my neck and down to my hips.

OUr mother made our clothes and believe me with no air conditioning and the 99percent humidity we were sooo unhappy. ..poor mother.

I would say to go to a good Ross store also and shop around the ladies and the kids section for styling ideas..
.my brother had me put a red light from a cops car and wear it on my head for halloween...people could not believe it when I turned the light on

hi everyone...i haven't posted in quite awhile...
my summer has been extremely boring! the only thing i'm looking forward to, is the amusement park! my mom said i could take a friend with me for my birthday...that should be fun.

I just got mine at the begining of summer and all I can say is ditto!
