Hi my daughter is 13 years old and we noticed one leg was longer, then noticed one hip is higher. My Dh took her to the doctor...no scoliosis check?
I took her to the Chiro and asked for a scoliosis panel, he agreed. the xrays showed a s shape curve with the major shift in lower pelvic...lumbar region showed a 28 degree to the left and thoracic showed a 25 degree convexing to right. I made an apt to the pediatric orthopedic...and now we wait..till her apt....I call everyday to see if there is any cancellations. I checked into Spincor brace, read about the boston brace, and others....been reading this forum...btw thank you for all your honest posts...I find your experiences very helpful.
I read many articles about exercise and proprioception of muscles using balance as a key link into therapy. so while we wait....we do core body exercises, using a balancing ball, stretch the tight areas....which you can feel the tightness in the areas of the cure..and a massage...every night...i do this hoping that it is not progressing.
Why do I wait....I had an apt with a spincor brace chiro...but cancelled it... all the info was on their website and it sounds fantastic..but the results are 70% effective and when discussing the brace with their doctor there is no guarantee any brace will work..
Do you find that the brace needs exercise to totally be effective? the two go together? IT would be interesting to see a survey on here with what types of braces everyone uses and who has been successful with the brace.
Spinecor brace really makes sense in that it allows full movement with support, curious how many here really like it? Used it...it is fairly new, but the dynamic part of it really makes sense.. Exercise makes sense too. Waiting does not make sense....
