  • Anyone else still on meds 4 months post-op?

    Hi Everyone!

I am 4 months post-op and still on Hydrocodone/APAP (7.5 MG) every 12 1/2 hours. This is the only medicine I am on. Just curious- anyone else still on pain meds this far out?

    Thanks!

I was just 4 months and this last week just jumped down to hydrocodone 325--total of 7 a day & 3 muscle relaxers a day. It was definitely feeling the change after a few days. I had been on 12 for a long time and then down to 9 the week before. I get really mixed messages on this each time. Dr. at 3 months thought it was fine where I was. At first nurse said when almost 4 months, no problem you're still "fresh" and had a lot done. Then they cut me way down suddenly. I really would love to be done with it all but I'm not going to do myself in to get there. So--you seem in great shape to me. Of course, you are much younger too! Janet

Thanks so much for the responses!!! I just worry about any side effects I may have when I am completely off of this medicine. I have heard some pretty horrible things about getting "addicted" to it!

        Thanks again!

        Have a great week!

I was on Oxycontin for 8 months and withdrew from it gradually. I had a few uncomfortable days but it was all manageable.

Ohhhh...I feel so good as I'm about 3 months and feel totally guilty and sick from being on meds so long. I'm on gabapentin and tramadol and the tired side effect is driving me absolutely nuts! All I want to do is sleep. I'm so spacey. Thanks for this posting!
