  • new diagnosis for 20 week son

I have suspected the last few weeks possible scoliosis (no family history on either side) for my son and just received results from xrays. He has a "rib hump" on right side, left chest protrudes further out than right and entire torso goes towards his right when flat. He started PT for torticollis on Monday as well.

Xray reads ~ approx 15 degree dextroscoliosis of thoracolumbar spine

we have appt May 9th (soonest we could be seen) by Dr Schmitz in Atlanta , Childrens Orthopedics with Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta

    what should we expect, advice?

    thanks for any responses

    Hi Jennifer,

I just wanted to mention to you that there is another website run by ISOP (Infantile Scoliosis Outreach Project) which you might find very useful.

    It is www.infantilescoliosis.org

All the parents there are dealing with, or have dealt with, the diagnosis of scoliosis in an infant or very young child.

    Best of luck to you.
