Chris we must have been posting at the same time. I wonder if that is the machine in Canada. I am going to look into it right now. I have time today my daughter is home w/ a fever and I am "trapped like a rat" in the house.

That is the machine in Canada I found an article (tryed to paste it but had a hard time) found it doing a simple search. It says that the machine reduces up to 90% of radiation / conventional machines and 1000 times / CT Scans. That is preety impressive. The article said it is used on all ages. Not sure if that is just in Canada, perhaps US has different guide lines.

If I recall correctly from what I've read, I think the machine at St. Justine's is an EOS

Ah, maybe we'll move to Canada (the place in NJ will not x-ray her unless she is an orthopedic patient because they are a "medical group" not a radiological facility they say)...I think BioSpace was hoping to place more machines in the US this year, but I wonder with the bad economy if health facilities will be willing to invest in new technology right now...

I apolgize for making this post about something other than Scoliosis, but here's an update on my mom. Mom has a mass/tumor in her upper chest that measures about 1 in x 3/4 in. Her doctor gave her two options--wait three months and watch it or do surgery now and remove it. She is having surgery next Thursday. It does look like it is cancer, but we won't know that for sure until after surgery. Thanks for listening. I'll keep you posted.

Snoopy I am so sorry to hear that. We had a similar scare last year with my mom but it turned out to be scar tissue (Thank GOD) My Mom is pretty frail (only 76ys old)

This must be very hard for you. Keep us post. You and your mom will be in my thoughts.
