    We are going to see Dr. Do tomarrow at cinncinatti childrens to see if Khyler is a canidate for the veptr procedure. Dr. Lenke's office called me on friday to tell me that they are putting Khyler's traction off for another month because the Dr. is too busy over the holiday weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooooooooo angry how can you tell a person something is life threating for there kid and he needs emmediate care and then put it off for 3 months.

    how awful that dr. lenke put your appt off. at least you have some other options.

    good luck at your appt today in cincinnati. did you and gail ever touch base? i'm crossing fingers and toes for you guys that you get some good advice and can move forward and treat khyler's scoliosis.

    give an update when you can!

    mom to lucas 6 1/2 yrs old with infantile scoliosis diagnosed at 18 mos 68o/45o;
    spinal detethering due to a tight/fatty filum at 22 mos;
    tlso and charleston brace from 18 mos to 2 1/2 yrs old at children's boston, ma;
    serial plaster casting from 2 1/2 until 4 1/2 at shriners in erie, pa;
    now in a spinecor brace at 21o/19o from montreal. next appt. sept 2008
    and ruby (3 1/2 yrs old and a handful!)
    north of boston, ma

      This may seem like an isolated unfortunate incident - the fact that your son has fallen through the cracks - but stories like this are repeated countless times. It's very sad! Doctors should be held accountable.

      Daughter, Deirdre born Oct 2000. Diagnosed with 60 degree curve at the age of 19 months. Serial casting by Dr. Hedden at Sick Kid's Hospital. Currently being treated by Dr. Rivard and Dr. Coillard in Montreal with the Spinecor brace and curve is holding at "2" degrees. Next appointment 2008

        you are so right. corina, i hope you don't mind, but i looked up information on the website of wash u to file a complaint. i don't know where you went to see dr. lenke, but if i were you and that angry (which you have every right to be), i would file a complaint. here's the information:

          thanks for the info deshea i will do that it's a shame that so many people get the run around i thought it was just us till i got on here it is jjust crazy something needs to be done about this....... if Khyler's curve was detected eairly and properly diagnosed maybe we would have avoided surgery all togeather....
