    Skiing

    Congratulatons on your gold medal!!!!

My daughter has been skiing since she was four.
We ski in New England (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine).
She got her brace in November and does ski in it. Every
Friday after school she has ski club and last week we
vacationed in North Conway, NH. She does fantastic skiing,
you would never know she had on the brace. She is not yet
signed up on the forum but should be very soon. I will
have her tell you about her experiences then.

My daughter is a very active and determined girl, and she decided the brace wasn't going to slow her down. She also is
involved in dancing about 10-12 hours a week . When
rehearsals and classes are more then 3-4 hours at a time.
she'll wear the brace and as she tells me" sweats her heart out."
This year she has been working on a solo performance to
    compete in the spring.

    Keep winning you golds!!!!

        Thanx for replying!

Your daughter must have a strong character, how old is she? Also i was wondering what sort of brace she has, mine is a Boston. Are there no cautions in wearing it while she's skiing as mine restricts my breathing, comes quite low and it's hard for me to bend which is the main reason i don't ski in it!

Thanx Imrahil, el poncho is spanish isn't it? Did you look that up or did you know it cause you speak it? I'm learning it, it's fun! Don't mean to be rude , but are you male or female? I'm female if you hadn't guess, i'm 14 what about you?

          Skiing

          Hatty,

My daughter does wear the Boston brace. She was 11 when
she started wearing it in November and just turned 12 the
          first week of January.

She also has asthma, (and so do I). Towards the end of this
month we need to start her taking her preventative
meds and inhalers. Her asthma kicks into high gear with
the pollen season. This will be the time we see how the
brace may become difficult. But we have conquered a
great many daily things thus far so I am sure we will get
          through the allergy season.

My daughter tells me the brace does not inhibit her breathing
while skiing. She does say falling is no picnic as the
plastic provides a slippery surface to snow contact.

I guess over all my daughter is becoming, as you will too,
more confident in her abilities, and her ways to still keep doing
          what she loves to do.

(Just a note: My daughters curve is 25. She just made the cut so to speak.
