That's very good news. Now there should be no problem getting insurance to cover.

Nice to see this approval. Nice to see the Zimmer-Harm-SRS registries, they are tools for tracking evidence.

They should do this on all scoliosis patients. Tethering does not cover everybody....

There is immense value to the historical records in scoliosis and orthopedics.

You can say that again. Newton is turning away 80% and only tethering 20%.

FDA approval for ZIMMER instrumentation and only for growing spines. However this will undoubtedly help spearhead more research accross the globe. Apparently insurance in US still denying it as so many VBT surgeons out of network for patients - however not because it's experimental anymore.

What we need now us a clear path of diagnosis for each patient for eligibility for VBT by consults so that patuents and parents can put pressure on its availability.

That's great news but the issue of out of network doctors affects EVERY field of medicine, not just pediatric orthopedics. It is a potential problem for everyone with that type of insurance for every condition.

Yes I see. In UK approval will foster further research but we will srillhave the problem of needing to prove that it is cost effective and surgeons will have to stop ignoring the problems that fusion causes when ageing into 40 and 50 in order for it to replace the gold standard of fusion.
