Ok, waiting on results from a sono my GP felt a strong pulse in abdomen. Has anybody heard of this happening? Of course I'm freaking out, and the interwebs isn't helping my anxiety when I read about aortic aneurysm. Help!?

Hi Cathy,
I have this exact thing and it is not an aneurysm, it is just that the aorta lies directly over the lumbar spine, so when they do this surgery and add lumbar lordosis it moves the aorta forward more. The aorta is a huge artery (over 2 inches wide), so the pulsation a can easily be felt in this instance. I'm 5'5" and 160 lbs so it's not like I have a slim belly haha!
I understand how concerning this seems, but do not worry, I am sure you will get good news. Besides, aortic aneurysms don't just appear for no reason, they are from vascular disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, etc, but not scoliosis.Gayle, age 50
