We are done with the Boston brace. We went for our final exam today, her back is stable and has some minor improvements. The upper thoracic curve is 23 degree and lumbar is 22 degrees. She was only wearing the brace at night for the past several months....and today we were given the your finished growing speech. The brace is in the garbage.
Honestly the best thing we did for my daughter was to get PT for her at a qualified Schroth PT therapist. It immediately improved her posture, strength, and helped with achy muscles. This program helped and overall improved her appearance and gave her confidence to move forward. Thanks for all the support from everyone here...thanks for sharing your success stories. I know everyone here has a different view point on this, but overall it's the people who did have success with schroth that really encouraged us to move in that direction. Honestly the orthopedic surgeon was kind and offered bracing to help with maintaining her curves, we were relaxed on that for the last six months. She started torso training and continues with schroth therapy.
Good luck everyone ...it's our time to say goodbye.
