I would be asking the surgeon about any/all cases that are as similar to yours as possible to find out the limits here. Can they rule out regional pain syndrome or whatever that is? There is a young woman on the UK site who I think was diagnosed with that. She is looking at her third surgery and has gone through several diagnoses as to what is causing her pain including this regional thing.

    Hang in there, Melissa. :-)
I've been thinking the same thing (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). Nothing else really explains it.

I have looked into Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy but I only have the muscle spasms and joint pain as well as the burning
pain. Do you really think that I could have it?

Changes in skin temperature, switching between warm or cold

Faster growth of nails and hair

      Muscle spasms and joint pain

Severe burning, aching pain that worsens with the slightest touch or breeze

Skin that slowly becomes blotchy, purple, pale, or red; thin and shiny; swollen; more sweaty

                      • My pain is so bad that I have decided to have....

surgery. Yes that is right. Surgery #6 in 18 months or surgery #5 in less than 11 months. The last CTScan shows that I have bone spurs pressing on my nerve.
The injection last week did not help and I decided not to do another one. I am going to have a mylegram done and then most likely have surgery on November
8th. I want to go to rehab this time. He and I think that was the problem back in September. After being in bed for 5 days and then just going home I was tired
and did not want to do anything . So that is what my game plan is. Thanks everyone for your support

                        • Oh no! That is an awful lot of surgeries Melissa and I feel for you. What exactly is the plan this time and what do you mean the problem last time was that you didn't go to rehab... how does that relate to bone spurs?
