  • I wanted to give everyone an update

On November 24 I am going to have the second Spinal Cord Simulator trial done. My Pain Management Doctor and Dr Bederman talked and hopefully the trial will be able to get completed.

I am going for PT and I hope that will relive some of the pain in my lower back.

This morning I fell out of bed and landed on my night table. I hurt my face on the right side very badly. My eye is swollen and I have blurry vision.

My face is all cut up

I went to the ER to make sure that I did not do anything serious. I do have a concussion.

      • Melissa, Take it easy and heal. Try to figure out why you fell and work on prevention [that's my strategy, anyway]: ? poor lighting, ? too muh sedation, ? hurried, ? slippery throw rugs......

It has been a long haul for you. Next year HAS to be a better year for you and me!

            • Just to keep you updated. I have been having very bad pain and wanted to make sure that I did not do anything stupid . I did fall twice last year and broke bones. I have been speaking to Dr Bederman and have been going to PT for the last 4 months. I saw Dr Lee at UCI. He said that my hardware looks good and is fused. He thinks that my pain is muscular. He and I both hope that my spinal cord stimulator trial next month will help my pain.
On another note, Dr Bederman is headed back to Southern California which is good for me.

                  • I did something today that I never thought I could do.
I am in San Antonio Texas and want on a cavern tour. It consisted of a 3/4 mile walk but it went down 180 feet. That meant I had to come back up 180 feet. I never thought I could have managed that. So even with my pain, I am living life.
