  • Four days left until surgery

I met with Dr Bederman yesterday and I am so excited about Monday. I am counting the days now. I cannot wait. He is the best and thank you again Linda for getting me in to see him in April. He will not be able to use his robot however as my CAT scan was not properly to give him the information that he needed

This is what he plans on doing

      1. Application of halo
      2. Removal of spinal rods
      3. Exploration of fusion
      4. Repair of pseudomeningocele lumbar spine
      5. Osteotomies C7-T4
      6. Decompression C4-5
      7. Posterior spinal instrumentation C2 to Pelvis with cobalt rods
      8. Posterior spinal fusion C2 to Pelvis with local autograft, allograft, DBM, possible BMP.

He did say that while the operation will not be 12-14 hours , it will be 8-10 hours. Glad that I am sleeping

It's wonderful to hear you say you're excited. Yes, all you have to do is lie there and sleep. You are in good hands and he will take the best care of you. I too, am excited to follow you through the last stages of this journey!

Try to do something fun this weekend. Even if it's shopping/eating out/or splurging on some special ice cream from the grocery store... We are all thinking of you and are excited for you too. Prayers and hugs--

We are going to see Annie in Rancho Cucamonga tomorrow afternoon so between church and the play Sunday is covered. Today, I will pack and do my wash and make some phone calls

I can't wait although I know next week I will not be this happy.
