  • Is anyone scheduled for November surgery yet?

Hi! Does anyone have their surgery scheduled for November? I just got a confirmation that I'm having my fusion done on November 4th. Before a date was set I wasn't so nervous but now I'm definately frightened.

I know what you mean. Having a date makes it all more realistic and worrisome. I wish I had my Nov. date still, but was moved to Jan. 5.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that! Keep your chin up and remember it'll be here sooner than you think. Where are you being fused?

I rarely post but I am on the forums everyday reading and learning. The people on here are so wonderful and extremely encouraging!

Dr. Lenke is in St. Louis which is only about 30 miles from our home. I'll be fused T4-sacrum. (When you asked "where" I wasn't sure if you meant which vertebrae or the location)
I'm okay with the Jan. date thinking that I'll be able to enjoy the holidays. I just wanted to get it behind me since I've known since last Dec. that I will have surgery.
Good luck with your surgery and start posting. I only read the forum for a few months, but after posting, I at least feel like I've established a support group that will understand what I'll be going through way more than my friends and family.

          Sandie,
Where will you be going for surgery and what surgeon? What degree is your curve(s) and which vertebrae will be fused? Also, I'm always curious of age since I'm in the upper age limit for this surgery.
          Thanks,
          Karen

            Hi Karen!

            Phoenix, AZ, Dr. Ehteshami.

I only have a 30 degree lumbar and 28 thorastic but I also have DDD, arthritis, and pinched nerves.

He's going to try to keep it from the L2 down to my sacrum.

            I'm 33 years old.
