Hi CAmomof2.

Thank you Sharon, I'll have a look at your threads. I'm sure I have read them before - but they weren't so relevant to me then! Yeah, it is Immi (although with an i rather than y these days ;)). She...
Hi all,
My daughter is having spinal fusion in the UK in Early December. I haven't been on this site for a while and the layout has changed considerably - I don't really know my way around anymore...
Hi Tom,
Just wanted to say that I admire your attitude and wish Tamzin all the best with your chosen method/s of treatment - I truely hope you are successful.
Not wishing to put a downer on the...
Wow, that was quick!
Thank you for your good wishes - at peace? I guess so... But I wish we didn't have to be.
I realised I forgot to say that Immi's brown patches (pressure marks??) have...
Hi all,
Back for my annual visit, checking up on you all :). Marlowe, sorry to hear about Halle's progression but delighted to hear your other news!!
We had Immi's 3 year check-up last week...
Wow! They look GREAT!! Thanks for posting.
xx
Jill - The cervical curve actually turns out to be a very high thoracic curve. Her consultant is not concerned by it at all - said that, IF surgery becomes necessary, he could deal with it usiing "a...
Hi All,
Had Immi's 2 year (actually 2 years & 2 months) appointment today.
Curve measured 35 degrees in brace. Sounds bad but is really not too awful. The brace has done a great job up to now...
Michelle, sorry to hear your news - I know how much we all read into any change in measurement, however small.
Immi has not been wearing her brace much at all recently - we're all so paranoid...
Thanks for that CD, you really are fab at interogating the www!
Immi's worst reading (of 38 at age 9), was off the scale at 4.2.
Latest measurement takes her down to somewhere in the 90s. Yay!...
I see (maths was never my strong point :D ). Clearly this is wrong??!! a 38 degree curve at 9 has a 38% chance of progressing? We have always been told that her chance of progressing is as near to...
Hi Gardenjen, just out of interest, I applied your formula to my daughter's figures of 2 years ago.
Cobb angle = 38 - (3 x Risser score) 0 / chronological age 9 = 4.2r
Have I done it wrong or...
Hi mbellcamp,
Sorry to hear your news. For what it's worth (and I'm no expert!), my answers are:
1) Never heard of using a standard TLSO at night only. (I would certainly have considered this...
Hi Sam's Dad,
Immi did walk like a cowboy to begin with, but soon got used to it and now I sometimes can't tell whether she's wearing it.
Immi had problems with the crotch straps rubbing in the...
Thank you my lovely friends.
I am feeling a bit happier this morning - you know how it is; it breaks your heart to see them so sad.
Mr Mills did adjust the brace - #4 now does up at the front,...
C curve was first noticed about 6 months into Spinecor.
It appears to have grown worse.
Mr Mills draws little Xs on Immi's vertibrae and at this visit pointed out that one is quite obviously...
Hi,
Lisanna is the daughter of Gerbo - the founder of this thread. Lisanna developed a worrying cervical curve whilst wearing Spinecor. This curve grew to become bigger than the original...
Hi all, Have just got back from seeing Blood Brothers at a local theatre (or theater to you!) - which has not improved my mood.
The appointment went reasonably well. Was an interim visit (the...
Immi's review tomorrow - 22 months into treatment. Hope you're all well.

My daughter had an MRI when she was 10 and had no sedation. She was very nervous, as was I, having been told about the noise and feeling of enclosure. She was fine! Even went to sleep!!
We took...
Great news Jill!
Good luck CD and Christine!
Immi had new lag straps at the last visit. They were £52 each  They look much better though and are more comfortable.
Sharon, your post made me smile from ear to ear. I know just how wonderful that expected good news (and glimmer of hope) feels, from our appointment last month.
Long may it continue!

As I'm sure we've discussed before, the distinction between AIS and JIS is sometimes a bit fuzzy. For the purposes of studies Immi is classes as AIS as she was braced a week before her tenth...
Perhaps I should have posted Immi's xrays here and you might have commented on them :( Did I commit a forum faux pas?
