  • Fusion revision

Hi all, so I haven’t posted on here for a while. Last Nov I underwent a total fusion revision which meant my dr basically removed my old metal replacing with new cobalt rods and screws. I was in California for my surgery for 36 days, barely made it home for Xmas. What a huge ordeal. Today, I notice I have a protruding screw which I can feel top of my skin in my spine. Little bit of pain there but not horrible. Yup, I’m worried.

    Hi there Rita,
I have a complete replacement of hardware also. My inclination: send a message to your doctor, send a second message if the pain increases, then stop worrying. There is a "settling out" period and a "something is progressing poorly" period. Hope that you continue to improve and this is just settling out.
    Hugs, Susan
