Anybody going to a middle school that has a
group of wicked cool girls, like wearing short skirts, high heel shoes, and hoop earrings that touch their sholder.
I don't know how I can handle fitting in and getting teased?!?

Anybody going into 7th grade or Middle school please write!!

im a freshman in highschool right now but i no what a pain in the butt junior high can be. i hated those popular girls who wore the shortest skirts, the most see through shirts, and who looked down on me. dont worry though, youll fit in just fine! do u wear your brace over or under your pants? i wore my brace under my pants, so it was barely noticeable.

Keeda: I'm 13 and just starting 8th grade. I know how you feel about popular girls - but they're always there and hopefully you can get to where you don't care what they think. I had to wear the brace for 6th and 7th grades, but I found out most people didn't even notice it. I wore jeans and long shirts a lot. I'm sure you have some friends who are supportive - that helps too!

Yeah, I'm in Middle School. I started 8th grade. I had surgery in August, and I am still not allowed to go to school (They said October 11th). I am now wearing a brace full time, and I am worried if it will show a lot when I go to school... I mean, my shirts are tight and small when slipped over the brace, so the only option is to wear jackets over the ones that fit (and are light colors) or wear very loose clothing for a couple of months... Not so bad, right?

I'm Going into Middle School!
I Am 11 In 2 days and I Started Wearing My Brace when I Was 7 .
Ask Me Questions I Know Most! You Know What Those Wicked Cool Girls Do you Like them???
If you feel Like they will tease you then dont hang around with them!!!! But If they wont just be cool about it and say "ya I Wear a Brace For Scoliocess My Spine is Crooked It's Not A Big Thing"

Write me back!!!

I can't imagine wearing a brace for a super long time, like 5 years or someting. I mean, when I was first diagnosed for scoliosis last year, I started wearing a night brace from September through May. 8 Months, not that bad. Then I found out I had to have surgery cuz the brace didn't prevent the curves and they got worse when I had my growth spurt. I had the surgery, and now I'm wearing a full-time brace for 2-4 months. Not that bad, considering that it doesn't really bother me and that it's a lot more comfortable and thinner than my night brace, so I'm dealing with it. Plus I feel a lot better. I hope anyone who's wearing a brace wears it loyally and doesn't cheat because braces can really help to prevent the curve from worsening. They gave me a brace that first time because I was still growing, so it could still get wose (and alas, it did). I'm still growing, but I'm taller (YAY) but the spine is fused so as I get talller, the curve won't get worse and I'm very happy about that! :)

Yeah, it can't be that bad. If I don't where a light shirt, you can't even NOTICE! I'm glad you're having a good time back in school- I hope I have the same luck as you. It's bee a month and 1 day since my surgery and I can go back to school in a couple of weeks!
