Hey ya'll!

After finding this site you all have helped me so much! I am no down to 2 weeks till the op. I'm now packing up my dorm and getting ready for my finals.. I'll be home in Chapel Hill Friday!! woo! i don't think my last two weeks could get any fuller.

Any ways, me and my mom are planning a shopping for surgery trip for all the supplies we might need. I'm trying to maka a list (some things that have already been mentioned) like zip hoodies and sweat pants. face clothes, brush ups. but i'm not sure what else i might want or need or will help me through the summer???

what helped ya'll out the most or what should i get? any thoughts or ideas will help greatly! Thank you so much in advance!!

Dear Tn-- You sound so busy! My youngest daughter is in college still and will be coming home soon... I always pictured my kids as little whirlwinds of activity, and am glad I tired out from being quite that busy!!!

What kinds of things are you wondering about? Clothes, equipment, things to help you while away the time??? If you do a "search" you'll find some info, but here are a few links that might help-- or make you chuckle. :D

I personally liked the cotton PJ type pants with drawstrings rather than sweats, cuz I get hot easily-- and they are s-o-o-o-o comfy. Just make sure you have comfy-for-relaxin' type clothes. That's what I lived in for 3 months... (ok, I had enough so they got washed, don't worry! ;) )

If you have more specific type questions you might get a little more response. Plus I bet some people will read this tonight and get back at you...

There are so many surgeries coming up!!! This will be a helpful thread for many, I'm sure. We're counting down with you. Hugs, Susie

The number-one most important item for the hospital: chapstick. Hospital air is exceedingly dry.

Once you're home, the most important item is a grabber. Get two, because you'll need something to pick up the one you dropped.

Good luck to you!

Body pillow for my son was indespensible. He also made very good use of easy to slip on shoes like crocs. He also got a long handled shoe horn to help put on sneakers.

I agree with Singer...but I had three grabbers...
Too funny, Chris...
My best present to myself was a huge ice pack..which Singer has now!!! I used it constantly in the beginning of recovery & always placed it on my front incision/side...
Also, Senokot, was a wonderful product!
