A question for the Women

Has any one else experienced this? I just started my 5th menstrual cycle in 13 weeks This is starting to get real old really quickly here. They also aren't on any type of regular cycle...6 days post op, 30 days, 25 days, 23 days and now 16 days since my last one. Is this normal? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have read here it is very common to have your cycle a couple of times in the first month or so and that happened to me as well but with what is happening to you I would definitely talk to your doctor. Have them check your hemoglobin as well. Good luck. Carol

Geish-I was 46 when I had my surgery. I had the same thing. I feel now I am in perimenopause. Sometimes I wonder if the surgery pushed me into this a little earlier & yet based on my age it could just be coincidental.
At this point I feel much better but it has been a couple months & I am waiting to see if I will still have it.......Ly

I'll be interested in any information about the post-surgical "hormone effect" from a slightly different perspective. I am long past menopause and suffered from hot flashes for 15-20 years. They had finally almost subsided until my February surgery and now they're back with a vengeance. Enough, already!!

I see my surgeon in the 1st of April so I will be sure to ask him then. As far as I am concerned this can all stop anytime! What a pain in the rear.

Hi...

It took about 6 months for my cycle to regulate after surgery.

I think major illness, surgery, and trauma can have a major effect on hormones. If anyone comes across a study, I'd love to see it.

I was having similar problems at your age.... even without surgery but that major trauma can't make things better.... Sorry you are having to deal with this too....

Thanks everyone for your input. I think it is probably stress (personal and surgical) and age. I was just wondering if anyone else was going through this too. I'll let you know what the surgeon says on the 1st.

Wow I had the opposite happen. Its been 20 months since my surgery but it took alomst 12 months to get my first cycle and since then nothing on my own-I am now on fertility treatment drugs to get me ovulating. i guess the grass isn't greener after all hey. Hope you get it sorted soon though it would be very frustrating. Perhaps the pill might help balance them out again.

Similar to the first experiences

I started mine three days post-op, then not again for 6 weeks, then about 4 weeks, this time three weeks.

A little bit irritating, I just have to be on the lookout!
