  • Scheuermann's Disease is.....

Scheuermann's Disease is a disease which affects the spine. Very rarely, when someone has scoliosis, they are not receiving enough blood supply to their spine or so called in medical terms Spinal Avascular. The appearence of Scheuermann's is a hump or round back in the thoracic spine. A MRI can establish the sight of Scheuermann's Disease. It is very painful. As in my case, when you have Scheuermann's Disease, you can establish very severe disc damage which also with the Scheuermann's Disease is VERY painful. Because of this I have to have Spinal Fusion with Instrumentation. The normal amount of degrees for Kyphosis is 45*. Mine is 78*.

i am (was) in the same boat as you. I had Scheuermann's Disease with very similar numbers (i forgot the exact numbers) and had anterior and posterior surgeries (with screws and rods) to succesfully correct the curve.
