  • Scoliosis Specialists in Alabama

Does anyone know anything about scoliosis specialists in Alabama? Currently going to Children's Hospital in Birmingham but would like feedback on others in the state.

I have a daughter who was recently diagnosed with infantile scoliosis. We live in Alabaster. We went to Children's Hospital to see Dr. Doyle. Who are you seeing at Children's?

We see Dr. Doyle too. My daughter just got her second brace and I'm concerned over it's fit. I've read some good comments about John Killian and wonder if a second opinion might be in order.

How is the adjustment going since you just found out?

I have some concerns about our appointment with him. We just took Ella to see him on November 2nd. He really didn't do much to examine her. He just briefly looked at her back and her x-ray and said come back when she is one year adjusted age (she was two months premature). From all that I have read, when an infant is diagnosed they should order an MRI. I asked him about it and he said it wasn't necessary. I understand that many infants have resolving curves, but I don't want to assume she does when I don't know for sure. I would rather error on the side of caution. I questioned the same thing, if I should get a second opinion.
When was your daughter diagnosed? What is her Cobb angle and RVAD?
I would think if you question the fit of the brace a second opinion might be best.
