    Dear all,

    I'm a 20 yr old from Egypt..and i've been diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 13 and over the last 7 yrs I've been having breathin problems..back pains etc,. and now its a 55 degree curve..I'm a new memeber and a bit lonely and actually pretty scared cos looks like I have to do the surgery ..Hope I can make new friends here..and get a bit of mental support

    You're not alone, dear Heba. We're here to support you. I will be praying for you. If surgery is recommended for you, then go for it. Linda said most of the people who went through it have moved on with their lives and don't need this forum anymore. I myself am waiting and watching. In the meatime, do a lot of deep breathings. You will be okay.

      Hi Heba...

      Most scoliosis specialists will tell you that scoliosis doesn't have much affect on pulmonary function until the curve gets to be at least 70 degrees. And, it usually doesn't affect daily living until the curve reaches at least 90 degrees.

      I tell you this not to minimize your symptoms, but to point out that you may have some other health problem which needs attention.

        Hey u guys

        Well thanx lily for ur support ..really and i'll be praying for you too ! And if u ever need anything I'm here! And linda, ur right..maybe its not all coming from my back..thanx for the advice and i'll make it a point to do further investigations
