Hi, everyone!
I am 24 years old and have been living with chronic back pain for about 4 years now. Recently I inured my lower back and had X-rays, which revealed mild scoliosis (not sure of degree). I am in a lot of pain and my orthopedist prescribed physical therapy while my chiropractor scared me that I am in such a bad shape that I will only get worse and worse. My cervical and lumbar vertebrae have nearly fused and I am really really scared that I will have to live with even worse pain for the rest of my life! What do I do? Is there any hope at all? How can I alleviate the pain? Does anyone know of any ways one could stop vertebrae from fusing? I am so scared and don't know what to do. Doctors seem really not that concerned (my orthopedist said that at my age I have only 2% chance that scoliosis will get worse), but I am in more and more pain and really unsure of what to do. Does anyone have any sites/books/etc that help with posture, proper exercise etc.? Please help!
Thanks!
Nana
