  • Should I pursue followup care?

I was diagnosed at 11 and braced from 13-16. It's been 8 years since I was discharged (I'm now 25). I don't have any symptoms, but I've been wondering if I ought to go in for an X-ray just to make sure my curve hasn't progressed since then.

    Thoughts?

    Hi Kerya...

Unless your curves were under 25 degrees, I'd suggest that you have new x-rays taken if you have new symptoms. Even if you don't have symptoms, I'd recommend that you have new x-rays done every 10 years or so, and especially if you're planning on getting pregnant, and/or after having children. (I'm not a medical professional, however, so it's just my own opinion.)

    Regards,
    Linda
