  • JUst recently diagnosed wiht Scoliosis.. need some info.

I was just recently diagnosed with Scoliosis, I'm not really sure what kind. My spine has a curve to the right and that results to my walking "funny" . My mother thougth it had to do with my hips ( i was born with Congenital Left Hip Disorder) but my specialist said my hips are fine and ran xrays and Scoliosis was the result. My specialist says it should be nothing to worry about as I have finished growing so it should not worsen. He is sending me back for xray's to see if it worsens in a few months and if not then he said no worries.
I was wondering if there was anyone else who was diagnosed with this at the age of 20 and had to have surgery to fix it? [sparkle_chick2003@hotmail.com[/EMAIL]

It's possible that people have not seen your post. You put it in the "Parents & Family Members" forum. You may want to try again in the "Adult Patients" area.

Also, since you don't mention the degree of your curve, it may be difficult for anyone to identify with you.

Hi, there, I would watch to see if the scoliosis worsens, I am 49, have had a congenital left hip disorder my whole life - had my hip totally replaced in 1992 - started having back problems a few years ago - thought it was due to the way I walk - wrong- I have scoliosis & this has developed over the last 4 to 5 years, this was slowly getting worse so I finally showed my back to my doctor, I have a 40 degree curve in my lower back & a 20 in my upper, and oh by the way I have stopped growing sometime ago.
