I have not been able to figure out how to add a picture to a post. I have added pictures and a video to my signature by uploading pictures to www.photobucket.com Once you have the pictures saved in photobucket, on the forum you will go to "settings" and "signature" to insert the picture. Maybe someone can tell you an easier way. Welcome to the forum.

To add a picture to your post, click on the icon with the paperclip in the top row of the icons on the grey background.
A window will open with the File Upload Manager.
Click the Add Files icon.
Click Select Files and a dialog box will open, letting you navigate your computer to find the photo you want. Once you find the photo, click Open.
Click Upload Files.
If necessary, drag the image icon to the Attachments area of the dialog box.
Click Insert Inline.
If you've done everything correctly, you'll see an HTML tag in your post that looks like this:

where nnnn = the number of your image.

Hi Jennilee...

In general, I really dislike anything that undermines someone's trust in their surgeon. However, I want to be sure you've gotten at least one other opinion. With newer techniques, thoracotomies for scoliosis are pretty rare these days. They have a lot of morbidity due to having to cut through the musculature of the torso. Most surgeons are using more minimally invasive techniques that involve splitting the muscles instead of cutting them. You can find a list of specialists in your area HERE.

Regards,
Linda

thank you Linda. after i read your post, i called my dr. i have 2 surgeons operating, a spine specialist and a scoli specialist. the scoli dr.'s office said that he will discuss that with me at my appt friday but that there are other more minimally invasive techniques now. the spine dr is the one who when i asked about my rib hump mentioned thoracotomy but he also said he would leave that to dr. eberson (scoli dr) as he will be doing the majority of the surgery and dr robertson will be assisting. so thanks for the info!!

You do know that Dr. Eberson is a pediatric specialist, right?

yes. Here in RI he is the best and he and dr Robertson work together at university orthopedics and both are highly recommended. We don't have many scoli docs here and he is willing to do my surgery along with dr Robertson. He does also handle adults but pedi scoliosis is his specialty. I have met with Robertson 3 times and tomorrow I'm meeting Eberson for the first time and he is the one doing the majority of the operation. I looked into dr lenke and dr hey but because of my insurance, I have to have the surgery locally here in ri.
