Scoliosis and Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Type 3

My 14 year old son has SMA, Type 3, a neuromuscular disorder, and scoliosis. I would like to hear from anyone who also has the same. Did you require surgery? Did the surgery affect your SMA?

Thanks for your input.

I know of several children with SMA who have had VEPTR rods placed for severe scoliosis. Let me know if you are interested in emailing them. Most I know are younger than your son.
