    Hey everyone how are you all. I been good. My back is doing fantastic. I'm not having a lot of sin in my back no more. But I sometimes wonder why shriners in sacramento discharged me right when I was in the surgical range past is the past nothing I can do about that anyway. Because in some cases they treated until 21 years. But I'm happy with UC Davis. I really like my spine surgeon.
    Right now my foot hurts pretty bad right now and the fracture is pretty bad. The type is a jones fracture. they are is a area of poor blood supply and there is a high procent that is won't heal it like 15 to 20 which is a lot if you think about it. I'm in different walking boot until I go back on August 7. I find out if I need foot surgery that day as well.

      Hi Kara,

      Sorry your foot is still so bad. I was hoping the cast would help you.

      I wonder if Shriner's discharged you because they knew UC Davis would be the best place for you to have surgery and follow-up. It really seems to vary as kids reach the age of 18 how that is handled. But everything worked out so well for you with Dr Gupta, which is all that matters!

      Have you been doing anything fun this summer?

          Sorry to hear about this. Yes a Jones fracture is a tough one. How long ago did you fracture it? You may benefit from a bone stimulator to help heal the area. We use them quite a bit for that type of fracture if it is non-healing after 90 days. Praying for some relief.

              Let us know what you find out on August 7th. I hope your foot heals and you don't need surgery.

                17 days until I find out if I need foot surgery. And plus the fracture is pretty bad

                  Ok only 4 days until I go to UC Davis for my foot. The break is making me really irritated and cranky.

                  That 15 to 20 present or 1,800,000 to 2,400,000 don't really heal which is a quite a lot if you think about it. the type of break in my foot is a special type of fracture it called a jones fracture. The history of it interesting it was named after a orthopedic surgeon named sir Robert Jones.
                  Plus the jones fracture is in a area of poor or limited blood supply.

                          Surgery March 3, 2009 at almost 58, now 63.
